The Society of St James (SSJ) delivers high impact, person-centered, accommodation services to people experiencing homelessness, substance misuse and mental health problems. The people we support are at the heart of everything we do, our main aim and priority is to find people with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.
An opportunity has arisen to work in a brand new service working in partnership with the Community Forensic Mental Health Team (CFMHT). The post holder will be part of a small team working at our new Stag Gates project. Stag Gates will provide supported accommodation for six people with forensic histories who are in the process of being discharged from hospital. The team will work closely with the CFMHT to enable residents to regain independence, integrate into the community and engage with education and employment activities. The team will support clients to move on to more independent accommodation and provide up to 6 months ongoing support.
This post holder will be taking part in a 7 day a week rota covering a range of shifts from 8.00 – 22.00. Actual number of hours per week may vary depending on rota.
Applicants will need to be highly motivated, creative and able to work independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate for this role would need to have experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental health issues. As this is a brand new scheme the successful candidate will need flexibility and adaptability to work with stakeholders and partners to create a mutually agreed service.
The successful candidate will work in a person-centred approach working with the clients to produce the outcomes they identify whilst also being able to identify and manage any potential risk. Good risk assessment, risk management skills and relationship building qualities will be essential.
