About the Role!
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Homelessness Outreach Worker at SSJ’s Homeless Day Services. We are looking for a non-judgemental, dynamic, self-motivated enthusiastic and creative person to join our outreach team; someone with really strong communication skills and understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable clients and rough sleepers.
You would be joining our friendly team dedicated to working with rough sleepers in Portsmouth to promote engagement with other services and identify factors which may be presenting difficulties with their housing needs. The role includes responsibility for working intensively with individuals who are rough sleeping.
The post holder should expect to work with support services and agencies acting as conduit in an effort to improve pathways for individuals from the street and accessing suitable accommodation and services.
The post holder will also address external factors facilitating rough sleeping including the visibility of rough sleeping sites. It involves working with a variety of agencies internally and externally coordinating a multi-agency approach to end rough sleeping.
