Are you passionate about making a difference?
The Society of St James (SSJ) has been working in Hampshire for over 50 years, delivering high impact, person-centred, accommodation services to adults and young people experiencing homelessness, problematic substance use and mental health problems. We believe that every person is of worth and we are prepared to take risks to house and support the most at risk and socially excluded members of society.
We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team in providing specialist, trauma-informed care to those who are most at risk and socially excluded in our society. Whether you are an experienced professional or looking to start your career in social justice, your work here will have a meaningful and lasting impact.

Why Join Our Team?
- Lived Experience Matters: Many of our staff and managers have lived experience of the challenges our service users face. This unique insight is at the heart of our service, helping those we support achieve their goals every day.
- Diverse Opportunities: We offer a variety of roles, from frontline recovery workers and clinical staff to specialist leadership and trustee positions.
- A Culture of Empowerment: We utilise innovative models, such as hybrid self-managing groups and Vanguard operating principles, to empower our staff and centre our services around the people who need them most.
What we offer
- Impactful, Purpose-led Work: Every day, you will help individuals navigate complex social needs and build a journey toward independence.
- A Supportive Environment: We promote a learning environment based on honesty, fairness, and trust. You will be part of a team-focused culture where every colleague is valued.
- Professional Development: We are committed to your growth, providing regular reflective practice, formal supervision, and training in modern interventions like ACT, CBT, and Trauma-Informed approaches.
- Meaningful Connections: You will build trusting relationships with service users, stakeholders, and community partners, enriching both your professional and personal life.
