Corporate volunteering

Corporate volunteer days offer the perfect opportunity for your business or organisation to give back to the local community, whilst also providing your staff with an enjoyable team building activity.
We have a small number of painting and gardening projects throughout the year suitable for corporate volunteer days.

We ask teams to consider fundraising to cover the cost of tools/equipment/materials you’ll need on the day.

A team representative will be invited to meet the accommodation lead and if appropriate, some of the residents. This will give you a chance to discuss with them what they would like by way of colours, additional furnishings, pictures, plants etc. What will it take to make the place feel more like home?

A large proportion of our service users are suffering from past trauma. At SSJ we are working towards a service that is designed and delivered in a way that takes into account the emotional and psychological needs of the individuals using them and you can help us with this. Improving the environment our service users live in plays a huge part in achieving this goal. You can read more about Psychologically Informed Environments here.

What else you can expect from us:

  • A briefing about the project you will be volunteering at and how it supports the needs of the local community
  • Detailed risk assessments for your allocated project
  • Code of conduct to keep you and our service users safe
  • Safety briefing on the day from a trained member of SSJ staff
  • Supervision and support throughout the day
  • Refreshments (if possible at the location)

If you would like to join our waiting list for a corporate volunteer day or would like to find out more information, please email fundraising@ssj.org.uk. We will need to know numbers involved, desired location and dates and any accessibility considerations.

One off donation

£12 could go towards providing essential items like toiletries, towels and a change of clothes for someone moving from rough sleeping into a hostel.

£25 could go towards providing a bus ticket and interview attire for someone to attend a job interview, giving them the opportunity to secure employment and rebuild their life.

Just £20

a month could help us provide a wide variety of activities, accredited courses and volunteering opportunities so that people can explore their strengths. This is vital to helping secure a route into employment, and ultimately in sustaining a tenancy.
