Handyperson+ Statement
We are very sorry to say that due to the current Coronavirus outbreak we have taken the decision to suspend our Handyperson+ visits to people in their own homes. We will resume the service as soon as the risk of infection has passed. In the meantime, the Handyperson+ service will be continuing to work with the Hospital Discharge Liaison Team at Southampton General Hospital helping to free up hospital beds.
Our HP+ Service is a unique, community-based service provided by SSJ, funded by Southampton City Council.
The service is available to help:
- People over 70
- Adults with disabilities
- Vulnerable families with children under 5
Two hours labour and materials up to the value of £30 are free to people in receipt of:
- ESA or Income Support
- Guaranteed Pension Credit
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
If you are not in receipt of benefits you may still be able to benefit from the service, for a small fee.
