Salary Scale: 19-21 (£23,729 – £25,115 per annum, pro rata)

The Society of St James (SSJ) delivers high impact, person-centred, accommodation and support services to people experiencing homelessness, substance misuse and mental health problems. The people we support are at the heart of everything we do, our main aim and priority is to find people with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.

The Role

The Alcohol Service provides a range of support for 24 clients, in four shared houses, who are working to overcome long-term alcohol dependency and gain new life skills that will support them to return to living independently in their own accommodation.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be able to work confidently with clients and achieve the goals identified in support plans and risk assessments. Account for and record all incoming monies in accordance with the Society’s Financial Procedures.

Promote the concept of recovery to service users emphasising the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and personal responsibility for their own long-term health outcomes.

Participate in all aspects of service delivery to ensure that all contractual requirements are met.

Help facilitate and deliver group work activities in the centre, including cooking, budgeting and other life-skills, and encourage and support service users to participate in all the activities.

It is essential to have a car driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
