The Recovery All-Stars Rock At The AGM

Our 2018 AGM took place in the Markus Liebherr Lounge at St Mary’s Stadium on Thursday 25th October.

With this year’s theme of ‘success’, guests shared in some of the achievements and successes clients and staff have made over the last twelve months. As well as a keynote speech from our Chief Executive Trevor Pickup, a number of volunteers and service users were issued certificates of achievement by the Sheriff of Southampton.

A highlight of the afternoon came from our very own band, The Recovery All-Stars, who performed two songs – ‘What Can I Say’ and ‘Brick In The Wall’.

In partnership with SoCo Music Project, The Recovery All-Stars meet for weekly jamming sessions and is made up of adults dealing with alcohol and drug misuse. Whether the participants are keen musicians or have never picked up an instrument before at all – they use their love of music and performing to support their on-going recovery.

Music has helped me so much in my recovery and I now feel like I have something to get up for. – A participant.
